Today I left at 8:20am for a 10 minute drive to meet Ed, Charlie and Mr Knowles at the front of High Tech High Media Arts. After saying hello to Chris Wakefield the four of us had a quick team meeting before our day got underway.
We then had a tour of one of the three HTH high schools with Brooklyn and Andrea (who recently interned at SBL). After lunch we looked around two HTH high schools and a middle school. It was really interesting to see the students, teachers and classrooms first hand. Also to see how the schools are designed is intriguing.
We were then lucky enough to attend a meeting where Larry Rosenstock, HTH CEO was taking questions. He is one of the founders members of the school. It was a pleasure to be in his company and to hear about his philosophy. He sees school as a place where kids should 'have fun, and work hard'. He spoke with real belief and confidence; it was a sight to behold.
